Skill Level (9/10):

This pattern is considered advanced. With over 80 pieces once cut out, it is not for the faint of heart. That being said, extra care has been put into documenting the steps to make the pattern as simple to follow as possible. Be sure to transfer every mark in order to maintain accuracy. If you are a beginner or intermediate sewist, you can of course attempt this pattern too. Just be sure to take your time and hand sew or hand baste if there is a step that is giving you trouble.

Dimensions:

Length (nose to tail tip): 21 in (53.3 cm)
Wingspan: 16 in (40.6 cm)
Height (including horns): 17 in (43.1 cm)

Material Information:

The material that is used on the example dragons is a discontinued fabric from Joann Fabrics
known as cobbled velvet. Because it is near impossible to get a hold of this fabric, we recommend minky.

Minky is a high quality fabric often used for plushies and baby blankets. It washes and wears better than most other similar materials and is super soft. Other options include anti-pill fleece, velour, or micro suede.

The horns have been made out of mystique spandex. This material is incredibly stretchy so if you decide to use it or anything similar, it is absolutely necessary that you back it with a medium or heavy weight one side fusible interfacing.

It is not necessary, but we also recommend backing all the pieces with sheer or featherweight interfacing. This will help with overall accuracy.

Embroidery and Applique:

This pattern includes instructions to add applique eyes to your dragon. You can also buy the embroidery files sold separately. (coming soon)

As a third option you can also use the same safety eyes we use on the raptors. Here is a link:
